Switch to Gmail - Moving Your Other Emails To Gmail

This is one of the features I have been waiting for. After years of switching between hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail, I think this signals the end of all that. With this new Gmail feature, moving your contacts and previous messages over to your gmail account is a breeze. It doesn't matter how many of these other accounts you have, it only takes a few minutes to get them over.

Tangled - 2010 Featuring Mandy Moore & Zachary Levi

I don't see movie trailers on TV, since I time shift everything and fast forward through commercials. So I knew nothing at all about this other than it was a Disney movie. Nothing online, hadn't heard anyone talk about it, I mean it was an absolute null to me. But I generally really like Disney and Pixar movies, so when I came across it, I had to see it with my 7 year old.

To say I was blown away would be putting it mildly. I didn't know Mandy Moore did the voice, but as soon as the first song started, I recognized it straight off. Same with Zachary Levi. Now Mandy I could see, since I've loved her voice ever since I saw A Walk to Remember. Zachary was a surprise, having known him only from the series Chuck, I never thought of him as a voice actor.

And after seeing the movie a few times, I can't picture any other choices doing as good of a job. They both do an outstanding job of emoting. Both in the songs and in the dialog, the inflections are just absolutely perfect. Her squeak when she first hits him. His "Surrounded by enormous piles of money" in the "I've Got a Dream" song... The way her voice shifted so well in her bipolar scene... It was the little touches like that which put this movie right to the top for me.

Songs? I had to buy the soundtrack and it's all my son wants to listen to now, whether on the TV (I use a media center PC for my TV so it's all available), on the computer, or on the ipod in the car. We're singing tangled songs all over the place. I found these songs to be my all time favorites now from any of the animated musicals. I never thought they'd get anyone to shine better in their musical animations than Jodi Benson (hope I spelled that right) from the Little Mermaid, but Mandy Moore nailed it. Songs are incredibly rich and have a lot of depth musically, and as always, are hilarious and very, very enjoyable. Even the score for the rest of the movie was great, and I crank the music from the dancing scene when I'm driving around too, great stuff.

The animation was wonderful, and the job they did with her hair, as well as the horse's expressions (as someone else mentioned in a review, the horse is a riot), and Pascal, the Chameleon... Was everything that Disney is known for when they're doing their jobs well.

Another review also mentioned the poor marketing job and such, which I guess I can attest to at a different level, as I had not noticed anything at ALL about it until March 2011 here, a few weeks ago. But despite that, this has shot right to my number one animated movie... And I never thought I'd see ANYTHING supplant that spot for my 7 year old, above Cars and Wall-E... But this one did for both of us.

Great movie for all ages, and hopefully a sign that Disney is solidly back on track.

New Syma 3 Channel S107 Mini Indoor Co-Axial Metal Body Frame & Built-in Gyroscope RC Remote Controlled Helicopter

I bought two of these helicopters. One for me and one for a sibling. We have owned them for about a month. They both work great.

What's good about them?

They are a blast to fly. Chasing the dogs around the house is hilarious. They are easy to control, but not boring to fly. Cruising around an open room is easy even for a elementary school aged child. If you want a challenge, try landing on small objects like stools, ceiling fan blades, window sills, etc or manoeuvre under and around furniture. They are very durable, which is good because you will crash and drop this heli. Mine has suffered an average of 4 crashes each flight. Whether it's plowing into walls, people, ceilings or furniture, it has always survived the fall to the tile floor. The only piece that broke was a fail fin. The plastic blades are made of a lightweight plastic that is pretty safe in terms of colliding with humans. I've been hit by the blades and it has never left a mark on me. Some may say it will hurt on occasion, but it's nothing that lasts or is worth crying over. When charging the heli, the USB charger and controller indicate a full battery with a light.

What's bad about them?

The flight time is limited to around 8 minutes (you should stick 5 minutes to make your total batter life span longer) while charging takes 40 minutes. Although repairing plastic parts is pretty easy, replacing electrical components look somewhat difficult. Obviously as stated, this is an indoor heli. Direct outdoor sunlight will make controlling your heli difficult due to the infared signal. Also, even a 1 or 2 mph breeze will carry your heli away.

The two helicopters I purchased were not perfect, but had some issues. My helicopter has lower blade shaft that wants to stick. Probably needs some oil in the gears. It flies perfectly, but you can tell that the friction slightly shortens the battery life compared to my brother's helicopter.

My brother's helicopter won't remain stationary when attempting to hover. It is off balance somehow and it makes a circle around where you are trying to hover. Usually about a 3 foot diameter. The orientation of the helicopter stays accurate but it strafes around in a circle, making precision landings difficult.

I have seen and used other s107 helis that have worked perfectly. I recommend this helicopter for just about anybody.

Buying Heated Blanket For Mum

It has been a while since I last posted here. Although, I like posting here, but things normally get in the way of things. In the last couple of days, I have been going to my mum's after work to take her around both for shopping and paying a few bills. We all know how cold it has been lately, so it makes sense to keep an eye on her health and make sure that she does not go into the cold on her own.

Although we recently moved her into a new apartment, she's yet to get used to the new environment, the surroundings and the transport system. She does not drive anymore because of her age. That's why I have to see her every so often.

That said, I recently bought myself a nice Heated Blanket over the Christmas period which works very well - it sheds you from the bitter cold and also helps to cut down on heating bill. Seeing how good it is, I thought I would buy one for my mum. She had one of those Wool Blankets you get at top shops, but never uses them. They only come out of her warddrobe when there's someone sleeping over. So, effectively meaning they have not been well used in the past few years. They still look quite new and clean. But that's not the reason they were bought - they need to be used, not for keeps.

Knowing she would not listen to me, I bought her another one that she can use and not stash away in the wardrobe. The Penninghton Wool Blankets and Heated Blanket are what I hope she will get used to using everyday.

Hopefully, this should help keep her warm when she doesn't want to have the heating on in the whole house.
